Tomato and Burrata Salad
Oh baby - this is the way to use beautiful, fresh, farmer's market tomatoes. Simple and spectacular, this combination of creamy burrata and perfectly ripe tomatoes is the definition of summer. Enjoy with all your favorite people
Ingredients
- 8 ounces burrata cheese
- 4-6 large fresh tomatoes heirloom if possible
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin the good stuff
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar Aged & syrupy if possible
- 8 large basil leaves sliced thin
- 1 pinch sea salt or kosher salt
Instructions
- Grab the burrata (a creamy version of fresh mozzarella - sheer perfection)
- Cut the pieces of burrata in half and place them down the center of a platter
- Admire your farm fresh tomatoes - these were from a local farmer at the Minneapolis Farmer's Market this week
- Cut the tomatoes in quarters and arrange on the platter with the cheese - so pretty!
- Drizzle the salad with the olive oil and balsamic vinegar - this is the time for the best of both
- Slice the fresh basil leaves thin (also known as chiffonade) and sprinkle on top of the salad. Add a pinch of sea salt and serve to all your favorite people
