Balsamic Glazed Mushrooms
This is a serious side dish! Rich and savory, it goes with anything you are serving from chicken to beef to pork and beyond. Serve the leftovers with a cheeseboard or in your favorite salad. It's a keeper!
Ingredients
- 1 pound small portabello mushrooms or your favorite mushrooms
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1 teaspoon honey
Instructions
- Clean the mushrooms with a damp cloth and cut the larger ones into 2" pieces
- Heat the olive oil in a large sauté pan. Add the mushrooms, salt and pepper. Sauté until beginning to brown and soften - 3-4 minutes
- Add the balsamic vinegar and honey and sauté for a minute or two
- Add the chopped garlic
- Simmer until the sauce thickens and reduces by half
- Serve hot or at room temperature and try not to let your kids eat them all before dinner!
- They make a great accompaniment to almost any meal
