A word about recipes and my first favorite!

I am excited to share recipes with you on this blog.  Many of the recipes will be my own creations and some will be adapted from other places – I will note those sources and share the websites of my favorite chefs and cooking sites along the way.  Because this blog is focused on where good food meets real life, I will offer substitutions and adaptations, to ensure that the recipes are easy and fun to create in your kitchen. I will include pictures with each step of the recipe, but if you would rather cut to the chase, hit the print button and you’ll see a written version without pictures.

As always, I welcome your feedback, thoughts and ideas.

And now a great fall favorite:

Crazy good curry roasted cauliflower

This easy, delicious recipe is the answer to that big head of cauliflower that looked irresistible at the farmer’s market or grocery store and is now at risk of withering away in your refrigerator.

I realized this fall that although I love cauliflower in almost any version, not everyone in my house shares my enthusiasm.  That is until I adapted this fabulous recipe.  It is the perfect make-ahead side dish and can be served hot or at room temperature.  The cauliflower goes beautifully with roast chicken, pork or fish. The leftovers (if there are any!) are great in an omelet, on a sandwich or thrown into a green salad.

Give it a try – I hope you love it as much as we do.  At any rate, please let me know what you think.
