Loaded with Tomatoes

It’s like an annual late summer present wrapped in beautiful colors. Yellow cherry tomatoes from my hot mess of a kitchen garden. Bright red Romas and Beefsteaks from the local coop and, my personal favorite, multi-colored heirlooms from the Minneapolis Farmer’s Market.

This title is also a great line from one of my favorite old movies: Marty. Ernest Borgnine won an Oscar for his performance of a middle-aged butcher in New York City, Marty Piletti, who’s given up on love. It’s a sweet, funny story about other people’s expectations and finding your way – timeless in many ways.
