I confess to being a lousy scrapbooker. My children don’t have beautifully organized boxes of artwork or sports medals and I’ve been less than stellar at collecting pictures of them through the years. Thank goodness smart phones were invented so at least some of their childhood has been documented!
I am, however, really good at honoring memories through food. I believe the meals we’ve shared are the thread that connects the laughter, tears and lively conversations across the table. I also love that the memories are cemented over time whether the food was delicious or awful.
This Chicken Tikka Masala is just one of those delicious dishes. (I make it a practice not to re-create the awful ones!)
Every time I make this fragrant, creamy stew I’m transported back to a great little Indian restaurant in Saratoga Springs, NY where my sister my mother, sisters and our families shared some fabulous meals.
I hope this dish becomes a delicious food memory for your family too. It’s a perfect Sunday afternoon meal, or because the flavors continue to meld, it works wonderfully to put it in the refrigerator and serve it during the week.
