Barbecue Sauce

Easy, delicious BBQ sauce you can use on everything

Ingredients

  • 1 cup ketchup I like Heinz
  • 2/3 cup apple cider vinegar or 1/2 cup if you like a less vinegary sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 pinch kosher salt
  • 1 pinch ground black pepper

Instructions

  • Place all ingredients into a small, heavy saucepan
  • Stir to combine and heat to a low boil
  • Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes - taste and adjust the seasonings
  • Slather on your favorite grilled chicken, ribs or pork - at the end of their grilling time or the sauce will burn
  • Let the chicken (or other meat) rest for a few minutes when done. Store the remaining BBQ sauce in the fridge for up to a week
  • Enjoy with your favorite sides and a nice glass of white wine (or beer, or soft drink)
