Ingredients
1cupraw almonds
2cupswaterfor soaking
4cups waterfor blending
Instructions
Place the almonds in a bowl and cover with about 2 cups of water and soak overnight.
Drain the almonds
Place the almonds and 4 cups of water into a Vitamix or other powerful blender. If you like your almond milk a bit sweet add a couple of dates or a tablespoon of maple syrup
Blend on high (increasing the speed as you go) until the almonds are fully blended
Grab a nut bag or some cheese cloth
Drain the almond milk through the nut bag or cheese cloth into a large bowl or pitcher
Squeeze the nut bag or cheese cloth. Discard the almond pulp or save it for baking
Store the almond milk in a glass jar in the refrigerator. Give it a good shake before using in all your favorite dishes.
