Instructions
  1. Wash the red pepper
  2. Place the pepper on a hot grill. You can also hold it directly over the flame of a gas stove with heatproof tongs if a grill is not easily available
  3. Grill the pepper turning every few minutes until it is well charred on all sides
  4. Place the pepper in a bowl, cover with plastic wrap and let sit for 15-20 minutes
  5. Cut the pepper in half and remove the seeds
  6. Flatten the pepper and remove the skin with a knife
  7. The skin should peel off easily
  8. Cut the pepper into strips and use in your favorite recipe or store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator
Recipe Notes

You can easily substitute orange or yellow peppers for red.  If you are using a gas stove, hold the pepper over the flame with heatproof tongs, turning every couple of minutes until charred on all sides.
